Public Programs

Through the public programs, we try to enhance access to MPP collections, attract more audience, and try to strengthen our bond with the community. The range of public programs includes exhibitions, workshops, and other outreach efforts, including the MPP website.

Exhibitions

MPP has been organizing exhibitions from its collections on a regular basis to (a) showcase MPP collection, and (b) raise awareness about the importance of archiving and archival research.

Exhibition of Election Campaign Materials

In July 2007, just prior to the historic Constituent Assembly Elections, we had organized RāshṭRiya NirvācaNa Pracāra Sāmagrī Pradarśanī, an exhibition of the Election Campaigning Materials used in Nepal’s elections. The exhibits covered materials used in Nepal’s first ever election in 1959 to the latest one. Around 50 originals of the campaign materials were exhibited in the event that ran for three days (29 – 31 July). The catalog of the exhibition also featured a brief history of elections and related legislation in Nepal. The exhibition was well received by public, scholars and politicians alike.
